Getting or Renewing a United States Passport
Beginning December 31, 2007 everyone entering the United States is required to have a current, valid passport. This is a change for many Americans who have enjoyed only needing a birth certificate and a driver's licience.
Prior to December 31, 2006, 75% of Americans traveling abroad did not need a passport to reenter the U.S. As we get closer to the December deadline there is expected to be a huge surge in passport applications and delays. If you do not have a US passport or your passport is about to expire, you might want to give serious consideration to acting upon this now.
